BAKED MOSTACCIOLI IS A FAMILY TRADITION

Both of our women have abandoned the nest (well, one is really still in school ), and Three Cheese Baked Mostaccioli is exactly what they constantly ask for vacations and Sunday dinner when everyone is living. It is flavorful comfort food, and really easy to make in advance too!

This Baked Mostaccioli is a recipe which has been consistently a specialization of my sister-in-law Bobbie. I am so blessed to have gotten her recipe years back until she lost her battle with breast cancer. We think of Aunt Bobbie EVERY time we consume her WONDERFUL Mostaccioli.

THREE CHEESE BAKED MOSTACCIOLI

INGREDIENTS:


  •     1 box Mostaccioli (Penne lisce) or Penne (mostaccioli rigati)
  •     1 Lb ground beef
  •     1 Lb salsiccia (in Case you Can Not Detect this, Then you can use Italian sausage)
  •     1/2 Tsp garlic salt
  •     45 ounces spaghetti sauce (we use Ragu Old World Style)
  •     1 Tsp Italian seasoning
  •     6 slices American Cheese
  •     6-8 Pieces Mozzarella Cheese
  •     3 Pieces Provolone Cheese


DIRECTIONS:


  1.     Preheat oven to 350° F
  2.     Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and put aside. Meanwhile, utilizing a large saucepan or skillet, cook ground beef, salsitccia, and garlic salt over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain grease. Add sauce and simmer into beef mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer uncovered for approximately 15-20 minutes.
